| Using Fair as the site for Dissemination of HIV/AIDS Messages in Malinggang Township, Mudan District, Heze, Shandong Province |

On July 30th, 2009, Malinggang Township of Mudan District opened a large-scale fair. Malinggang Town government, the town health center and the clinic of Gaomiao Administrative Village jointly held the HIV/AIDS IEC activities. Staff from the said organizations displayed slogans "Mobilizing all actors and making concerted efforts to prevent and control AIDS" and "Malinggang Township government and the health center remind you to prevent AIDS"at the downtown area. The township health center set up counseling outlets on the site, and health workers provided counseling service on the site. A HIV/AIDS performance troupe composed of 35 villagers from Gaomiao Village performed yangko, beating gongs and drums and playing dramas with contents related to HIV/AIDS control. During the climax of performances, Liu Xinghao, deputy secretary of the township Party Committee, led local government officials and medical staff from the Health Center to distribute IEC materials, including 1,800 copies of leaflets and 1,250 copies of flyers. 118 residents received counseling and about 3,000 farmers watched the performance. Many people said happily, "Learned knowledge on AIDS prevention at the fair, to build a better village and safeguarding the family's health."
