| Enjoying the Nature at Ease― "1+1 Working Group" in Jiangxi conducted out-reach intervention activity with MSM |

On August 5, 2009, supported by Xihu District China Global Fund AIDS Program Office, Nanchang, the "1+1 Working Group" organized approximately 20 MSM from colleges and universities to conduct on-site outreach interventions themed "Preventing AIDS, beginning with me; being happy and healthy, beginning with condoms" at Sandiequan, Lushan Mountain.
Xihu District, Nanchang has always focused on HIV/AIDS IEC for MSM at colleges and universities and promoting condom use among them. Xihu District Program Office continues to explore how to increase HIV/AIDS knowledge and promote condom use among MSM at colleges and universities, so as to promote their awareness of safer sex and consolidate safe sexual practice.
Previous training activities usually were conducted indoor. This time Jiangxi 1+1 Working Group explored another approach, conducting training activity outdoors and helping participants to relax and enjoy the nature. Tough outdoor activity allowed the participants to feel the power of teamwork and enhance their cohesion.
The intervention activity focused on conducting extensive and in-depth STI/AIDS IEC education, in order to increase participants' understanding of STI/HIV/AIDS and promote behavioral change. Xiong Ming, staff with Xihu District CDC, presented the basic information, correct use of condoms and epidemic situations of HIV/AIDS to the MSM, played games with participants and answering questions in an amusing way, helping the participants to further understand the problems of STI/AIDS.
This outreach training activity has explored a new path, increasing new impetus for MSM training and received extensive welcome. Participants sincerely indicated, "You may find that the vision become wider and life more wonderful through outdoor activities."
